LaChone Williams is a proud New Rochelle native whose name has become synonymous with unforgettable flavor and heartfelt hospitality. Known affectionately as “Suggarplum,” she has built a reputation not just for extraordinary food, but for bringing people together.
From a very young age, LaChone knew she was destined to be in the kitchen. Spending time in her great-uncle’s restaurant as a child, she discovered that cooking wasn’t just a skill — it was her calling. What began as childhood curiosity quickly turned into mastery. Before she was even a teenager, she had already perfected the fried chicken and macaroni and cheese that Suggarplums is now known and celebrated for.
For LaChone, food has always been more than a meal. It is connection. It is community. It is love served on a plate.
Suggarplums began as a chef in such notable spaces, such as Keith's Catering Hall and Yvonn'es of Pelham. She opened her doors in 2013, when she opened Suggarplum's restaurant. The restuarant has since evolved into a catering powerhouse across Westchester and the Tri-State area.
Through it all, one thing has never changed: every dish is crafted with intention and soul. LaChone is hands-on in the kitchen, ensuring that every event — whether intimate or grand — reflects warmth, excellence, and authenticity.
